A new commercial featuring Board of Trustees member Rick Walsh was posted on UCF’s YouTube page last week:
A bold move by UCF. 30,000 jobs. And billions in economic development. The only project of its kind. Some call it a game changer. We call it a medical city. With research, hospitals and a College of Medicine…we’re transforming and savings lives. I’m Rick Walsh, UCF Class of ’77.
The overhaul of the Lake Claire Recreation Area at UCF was recently completed (our Previous Post explains what work was completed). Here are a few photos of what’s new!
The Track & Soccer stadium’s ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on May 5th, coinciding with the UCF Twilight track meet. Here’s an excerpt from a UCF news release earlier this week:
UCF invites its fans, neighbors and supporting community to come out and celebrate the opening of the new Soccer and Track Stadium during the UCF Twilight with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Admission to the Ribbon Cutting and UCF Twilight track meet is FREE. There will also be complimentary parking in Garage F (adjacent to the track & field complex).
On Monday morning, April 11, 2011, Orange County Traffic Control will be inspecting the new traffic signal at Parking Garage “H”. After inspection is completed and passed, the new traffic signal will be activated. Please be aware of the new traffic signal which should be on line before noon on Monday, April 11, 2011.
The new Parking Garage “H” will not be open to the public until later in April but the traffic signal will be active.
Please obey all traffic laws.
Here are some photos of the Morgridge International Reading Center (MIRC) that is under construction near Garage A and the Education Complex. The glass & aluminum curtainwall looks to be complete, and the brick facade is almost done.
The new building is scheduled to complete in April, about a month from today.
