Up Close: Electric Vehicle Solar Charging Station

Earlier this year, UCF opened new electric vehicle charging stations next to Memory Mall in parking lot D1.  The charging station generates electricity using the solar panels that are mounted to the top of the steel structure.  As electric vehicles start to enter the market in the coming years, these spaces will be used for general (student) parking.  For now, they’re being used for research and other university uses.
