Chick-Fil-A in the John T. Washington Center has been closed all summer for some major renovations. The seating area will be expanded to accommodate more guests, and the menu will be expanded as well. The “brand refresh” project will cost almost $400,000 and should complete later this year.

In one of my previous posts I mentioned that GameStop was going to be taking over the former Copy Center space across from Chick-Fil-A in the John T. Washington Center. I snapped a few quick pics today with my phone when I noticed that work inside the space has started.
Gamestop is a video game and entertainment software retailer. They already have a few locations very close to the UCF campus, so this location is presumably intended to serve the on-campus students and capture some of the foot traffic that flows through the JTWC every day.

The John T. Washington Center at UCF, often referred to as the “Breezeway”, got a new awning recently. The $11,130 awning was installed by Sign Access, and work was completed last month. I’m not sure if it lights up at night but I’ll try to find out!
What do you think about this new awning? Leave a comment below. Also, look out for more “breezeway” updates, as a new Gamestop is being built in the former Copy Center space, and the Chick-Fil-A space is scheduled for a facelift.
