Here are some photos of the Morgridge International Reading Center (MIRC) that is under construction near Garage A and the Education Complex. The glass & aluminum curtainwall looks to be complete, and the brick facade is almost done.
The new building is scheduled to complete in April, about a month from today.
If you’ve driven onto campus at the Alafaya / University entrance recently, you’ve probably seen the building under construction next to Parking Garage A. This new building will become UCF’s new Morgridge International Reading Center, and it is finally coming out of the ground. As you can see, masonry crews erected the CMU walls pretty quickly, and the structural steel work is now underway.
As mentioned in our previous update, the building is designed by Baker-Barrios and Wharton Smith is the general contractor. The 15,000-SF building will be completed in 2011. Check out a couple more photos below:
